SEABASS frontperson Annie Siegmann calls 2020 “the best and worst year of (her) life, although the band ended the year on a definite high. With the release of the energetic single ‘Burn’, a SAM Award win under their belt and a debut EP ready for release, Seabass definitely didn’t let a pesky global pandemic dampen spirits.
During lockdown, the band got to work on their debut EP ‘Always Kidding’, a journey into the style and musicianship that SEABASS offers. From chaotic, psychedelic wailing guitars, to jangling indie rock hooks, the four-piece has all bases covered.
A year on from opening for Grinspoon and second single ‘Brains’, SEABASS are looking forward to their launch at Jive on 27 February 2021. Punters can expect SEABASS usual explosive live performance and monster musical prowess, along with some ripping new tunes.
“The first I’ve heard of SEABASS and quite frankly, give me more”
Triple J, Declan Byrnes (Brains, 2020)
“The rattle and shake of early Kings Of Leon with the driving presence of Ali Barter. Like what I’m hearing!”
Triple J, Dave Ruby Howe (Burn, 2020)
“The percussion and guitar keep a serotonin-inducing beat, while the vocals offer stunningly-controlled emotion throughout. A bloody good release”
Music Feeds, Natassia Baroni (Burn, 2020)
With a strong lineup of Adelaide’s most powerful women, SEABASS will be joined by exciting newcomers MUM FRIENDS and seasoned legends OSCAR THE WILD
